"Survivor: The Presidential Campaign

Coverage of the White Race comes across like it was produced by Mark Burnett or some other wiz of the reality TV genre. Veteran news analyst Andrew Tyndall has been saying for weeks that covering the presidential campaigns is no longer about "the horse race," it's all about the personal drama. Couldn't agree with Tyndall more. Issues -- who needs to cover all that boring policy stuff. This time around it's all about personalities. The media mantra this campaign cycle is the same as the one the USA Network uses. "Characters welcome!"

Especially true in coverage of "The Hilary and Bill Show" vs. Obama, especially in the ex-Prez's panicked attempt to stand by his Hilary and play the race card . Of course, I'm talking about Bill Clinton's incredibly lame and disappointing attempt to link Obama's decisive win of the South Carolina primary to Jesse Jackson victory in the state in 1988. That's 20 friggin years ago and thankfully, as anybody with half a brain can see,, Obama is no Jesse.

Still, we have to thank Bubba for his foot-n-mouth disease for the kind of bipartisanship I haven't witnessed since right after 9/11. Anybody who watched all the Sunday politico gabfests could see it. Pundits left, right and center were unified in calling out Big Bill's attempt to through a nasty racial uppercut. Can't wait for Thursday's face-off between Obama, Hilary and John Edwards {You know Edwards? He's the one whose advisers forgot to tell this run for the biggest prize wasn't about the issues, it;s about the show.}
